Terms & Conditions
By engaging in any services or purchasing products from Tyre City Autocentre, you agree to the following terms and conditions:
1. Refunds and Cancellations
- If you've paid in full for new or part-worn tyres but they haven't been fitted yet, you have 14 days from the purchase date to request a refund. A 10% restocking fee will be deducted from your refund.
- After 14 days, no refund will be given.
- All refunds will be processed within 3 business days and returned to the original payment card used for the purchase.
- No refunds or exchanges will be given without a valid receipt.
2. Tyre Warranties
- New Tyres: All new tyres purchased from Tyre City Autocentre come with a 1-year warranty against manufacturing defects. This warranty covers defects in materials and workmanship. It doesn't cover damage from road hazards, improper inflation, misuse, accidents, or malicious damage.
- Part-Worn Tyres: Part-worn tyres are sold with a 1-month warranty specifically for manufacturing defects only. This limited warranty doesn't cover any other forms of damage or wear and tear.
3. Tyre Fittings and Associated Services
- Locking Nut Removal: When attempting to remove locking nuts, the fitter will notify the customer that there is a possibility the wheel could be damaged or marked during this process, especially if the nut has been previously overtightened or is seized. If the customer is not happy to proceed with this risk, Tyre City Autocentre will not carry out the work. Should damage or marks occur to the wheel during locking nut removal, Tyre City Autocentre will not take any responsibility or cover any costs for repair or refurbishment.
- Locking Nuts (previously overtightened): If a locking nut has been previously overtightened, our fitter will make you aware of the risk before proceeding. Should the locking nut break during removal, Tyre City Autocentre accepts no responsibility and won't cover any associated costs or damages.
- Existing Wheel Damage (Tyre Fitting/Replacement): If your wheels already have existing damage (e.g., curbing, flaking paint, scratches) before tyre fitting or replacement, Tyre City Autocentre won't be held liable for any existing damage or any pre-existing damage that might be exacerbated during the fitting process. Should new damage occur to wheels during fitting that didn't exist before, and the wheel had pre-existing damage, Tyre City Autocentre will only cover half of the cost of repair or refurbishment for the new damage caused by our fitting process. Any such repair or refurbishment will be carried out by Tyre City Autocentre.
- Wheel Nut Torque: All wheels fitted by Tyre City Autocentre are torqued to the correct manufacturer's specifications. It's the customer's responsibility to either return the vehicle to Tyre City Autocentre for a torque check after approximately 50 miles of driving, or to check the wheel nut torque themselves after 50 miles. Tyre City Autocentre accepts no liability for loose wheel nuts if this check isn't performed.
4. Replacement Tyres from Other Shops
- If a new or part-worn tyre purchased from Tyre City Autocentre is deemed defective and you've replaced it at another tyre shop, we will only refund the cost of the defective tyre. The cost of our fitting will be deducted from the total cost of the tyre that was bought from us. We won't cover any invoices from other garages unless agreed upon by us in writing beforehand.
5. Puncture Repairs
- Puncture repairs carried out by Tyre City Autocentre come with a lifetime guarantee for the repair itself. Should a repair fail, the cost of the repair will be deducted from the price of a replacement tyre purchased from us.
6. Goods Left on Premises
- Any wheels or other goods left on Tyre City Autocentre premises will be held for a maximum of 1 month from the date they are left, unless alternative arrangements have been agreed upon in writing. After this period, items may be disposed of, and no refund or compensation will be provided.
7. MOT Tests
- Tyre City Autocentre reserves the right to request upfront payment for MOT tests.
- A £10 retest fee may be charged for an MOT retest if the necessary repairs for a failed MOT have been carried out by another garage or by the customer themselves.
8. Mechanical Work Warranty
- All mechanical work undertaken by Tyre City Autocentre comes with a 12-month warranty covering both parts and labour. This warranty specifically excludes damage caused by malicious acts or misuse.
- We won't cover costs for any invoices or repairs carried out at other garages unless Tyre City Autocentre has been notified in writing or by email and has explicitly agreed to such repairs or costs prior to them being incurred.
9. Mechanical Work Quotations and Payment
- For all mechanical work, Tyre City Autocentre will provide a quotation. All quotes are subject to change due to factors such as parts availability or additional work identified as necessary during the repair process.
- We will contact you to obtain authorisation before carrying out any additional repairs not covered by the initial quote.
- The full quoted price (including any authorised additional work) must be paid on collection of the vehicle. The price is not negotiable upon arrival when collecting the vehicle.
10. Battery Replacement Warranty
- Battery replacements come with a 3-year warranty. This warranty only covers the cost of the battery itself and does not cover fitting costs.
- The battery warranty is only valid on the vehicle to which the battery was originally fitted by Tyre City Autocentre.
11. Service Books
- Service books will only be stamped if the customer leaves the service book with Tyre City Autocentre on the day the service is carried out.
12. Air Conditioning Re-gas
- Air conditioning re-gas services are provided without any warranty.
13. Wheel Refurbishment
- Wheel refurbishment services come with a 12-month warranty against defects in the refurbishment work. This warranty doesn't cover malicious damage, further curbing, or new damage.
14. Number Plates
- All number plates sold by Tyre City Autocentre are intended and sold as show plates only. We take no responsibility for how the customer intends to use these plates, and it's the customer's responsibility to ensure compliance with all relevant road traffic regulations.
15. Wheel Alignment
- Wheel alignment services come with a 1-week warranty. You must notify Tyre City Autocentre within this 1-week period if you experience any issues. After this period, any further alignment adjustments will be charged at the standard rate.
